America’s Favorite Doctor Headed to Arizona

Dr. Oz to tape Your Life A to Z Prime Time Special, PSAs for anti-bullying program

Phoenix – America’s favorite doctor, Dr. Mehmet Oz, is headed to Arizona to share his tips on living a healthier, stronger and safer life in a special prime time edition of Your Life A to Z. In light of the recent Sandy Hook school shootings, the famous doctor will also lend his talent to a series of public service announcements (PSAs) promoting the station’s anti-bullying program, Rachel’s Challenge.

“Dr. Oz brings the same energy and enthusiasm you see in his show to everything he does,” said Nick Nicholson, President and General Manger of KTVK 3TV. “It is rare these days to have such a recognizable media figure so willing to visit markets and work directly with stations to produce local, quality content for our other media platforms.”

This is Dr. Oz’s second visit to Phoenix in less than a year. In his return engagement to Your Life A to Z, Dr. Oz will join host Lisa Haffner to share his personal health routine including diet and his daily vitamin and supplement regime. The special Your Life A to Z with Dr. Oz will air on January 10th at 7 p.m. on 3TV and re-air on Friday, January 11th during the show’s regular 10 a.m. time slot.
The special show will also include segments featuring Sprouts Farmers Market, Arizona Vein and Vascular, SottoPelle, The CORE Institute and AquaViva Water Wellness.

“We are honored to be part of the Your Life A to Z with Dr. Oz special episode,” said Dr. Phillip Wall of Arizona Vein and Vascular. “Dr. Oz is the most recognized and respected doctor of our generation. His expert advice helps millions of Americans.”

Dr. Oz will also be spending time with Darrell Scott, founder of Rachel’s Challenge, a pro-kindness, anti-bullying program designed to create a culture of kindness and compassion in our schools. Scott is the father of Rachel Scott the first victim in the 1999 Columbine school shootings.

The two, along with 3TV’s morning and evening news teams, will be taping various public service announcements (PSAs) for the Rachel’s Challenge program that has now been seen by more than 28,000 Arizona school children.

The PSAs will encourage Arizonans to look for the best in others, dream big, choose positive influences and speak with kindness.

The doctor will round out his visit with 3TV’s News department appearing live in the station’s Good Evening Arizona program on Thursday, January 9th and taping segments for the station’s other newscasts.

The Dr. Oz Show can be seen weekdays on 3TV at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
