Breeders’ Cup and WHAS11 to give away $10,000 Win Wager on Ladies’ Classic in “$10k Fan Sweepstakes”

Fans can enter to win at Churchill Downs during Friday’s World Championship races

LOUISVILLE, KY - The Breeders’ Cup and WHAS11 have teamed up to give one lucky fan the opportunity to direct a win wager on the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic on Friday, Nov. 4 at Churchill Downs. The Breeders’ Cup World Championships is Thoroughbred racing’s most prestigious global event, consisting of 15 races and $26 million in purses over two days. The Breeders’ Cup will be televised live on ABC and ESPN and to a worldwide audience in more than 120 countries.

The “Breeders’ Cup $10K Fan Sweepstakes” begins after gates open on Championship Friday at 12 p.m. ET at  the Breeders’ Cup $10K WHAS-11 booth located near the Aristides Garden in the paddock. Fans may also enter at Will Call outside Gate 17.

Entry is limited to one per person.

The Breeders’ Cup $10K Fan Sweepstakes concludes just prior to Race 5 at 4:10 p.m. ET.  The winner’s name will be drawn at 4:30 p.m., and the $10,000 bet will then be directed on the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic, which will be run at 7:30 p.m. ET.

This year’s Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic is shaping up to be an all-star field of outstanding fillies and mares led by the Bob Baffert-trained 3-year-old Plum Pretty, winner of the Kentucky Oaks; the speedy 3-year-old Royal Delta, winner of both the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes and the Alabama Stakes, and the 3-year-old Zazu, owned by Jerry and Ann Moss, who campaigned the amazing and unforgettable Zenyatta to victories in the 2008 Ladies’ Classic and the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Classic.  Zazu, a hard-charging gray bullet,  is another star in the making, having won both the Hollywood Oaks and the Lady’s Secret Stakes this year.

(“U.S.”) who currently reside in the U.S. and are 18 or older at time of entry. Begins at the time gates open for live racing on Friday, November 4, 2011, approximately 12:00 PM EDT, and ends at the beginning of the 5th race that same day, approximately 4:10 PM EDT. The drawing of winners for the opportunity to direct a Win wager for the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic will be conducted at approximately 4:30 PM EDT. Subject to complete official rules, available at the designated sweepstakes entry area located near the Aristides garden in the paddock (or at Will Call outside Gate 17). Limit one (1) entry per person. Prize: winner will receive the opportunity to direct a Win wager ($10,000) during the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic. Void where prohibited or restricted.
